The engine experts at Bremerhaven's German Dry Docks AG (GDD) can step on the gas. MWB Marine Services GmbH starts work on 1 July. The antitrust authorities have given the go-ahead for the strategic realignment. With Zeppelin Power Systems GmbH & Co KG (ZPS) from Hamburg, the motor sector of the GDD Group has a strong partner at its side. At the Kaiserhafen site, the new company combines the tradition of MWB Motorenwerke Bremerhaven with answers to future challenges in international shipping.
Alarmübung GDD AG 1-2017 KORVETTE ERFURT in Bremerhaven
Am 25.01.2017 fand eine Alarmübung auf der KORVETTE ERFURT bei der GDD AG in der Barkhausenstraße in Bremerhaven statt. Ziel einer solchen Übung ist es verschiedene Abläufe im Falle eines Brandes zu üben sowie die Zusammenarbeit mit der Feuerwehr zu unterstützen.
Together under the umbrella of the German Dry Docks Group: Shipyard alliance of GDD, BREDO and Mützelfeldtwerft
As of February 1, 2017 German Dry Docks AG (GDD), BREDO Dockgesellschaft mbH (BREDO) and Mützelfeldtwerft GmbH & Co. KG will form a shipyard alliance under the umbrella of the German Dry Docks Group. The shipyards will preserve their independence and continue to trade in the market with their names. In the future the three locations will be managed by Guido Försterling (GDD) and Dirk Harms (BREDO).
MWB POWER GOES ROTTERDAM – Full service on site – in cooperation with Rotterdam Ship Repair
Since October 2016, MWB Power from Bremerhaven has been represented with a subsidiary at Europe's largest deep water port. Hand in hand with Rotterdam Ship Repair, MWB Power Rotterdam covers the entire range of ship and engine repairs on site.

A new, efficient ship repair firm has been formed in Bremerhaven with the merger of German Dry Docks GmbH & Co. KG (GDD) and MWB Motorenwerke Bremerhaven AG (MWB): German Dry Docks AG, with its business division MWB Power.
HAMBURG’S FLOATING LANDMARK IN BREMERHAVEN: GERMAN DRY DOCKS OVERHAULS MUSEUM CARGO SHIP CAP SAN DIEGO
On 29 February 2016 the world‘s largest seaworthy museum cargo ship docks at German Dry Docks in Bremerhaven for a regular class renewal. Hamburg’s floating legend is accompanied by a camera crew of the NDR.
MODEL FOR EFFICIENT SCRUBBER RETROFITTING: GERMAN DRY DOCKS INSTALLS MORE FLUE GAS SCRUBBERS
Buss Shipping will retrofit the two 1025 TEU container ships "Corsar" and "Condor" at German Dry Docks with Alfa Laval PureSOx 2.0 Hybrid flue gas scrubbers in March 2016. A special focus in the development of the concept was on a high pre-retrofitting depth and compactness as well as the minimum possible changes in the interior of the vessel.
